Ear Rocks/Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you might have your ear rocks out? BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo, which is a false sensation of spinning (ie. room spinning). BPPB occurs when your inner ear crystals become displaced and move to a part of your inner ear that causes vertigo with head and body position changes (looking up/tilting your head back, bending down, rolling on your side in bed, lying flat in bed)
BPPV stands for:
B: Benign- not life threatening
P: Paroxysmal- sudden onset
P: Positional- changes of head and body position
V: Vertigo- the illusion of objects moving in the environment
BPPV is easily treated in our clinics, many time only 1-2 visits required.
